The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® are founded on an ancient Maya technique of abdominal massage. This technique guides and supports the organs back into their optimal position, allowing for improved functioning for optimal health and wellness.

Fertility Massage Therapy™ is based on similar principles, and both address misalignment or congestion in the reproductive organs of men and women, as well as many common digestive disorders.  These techniques effectively alleviate tissue congestion and organ constriction to improve the vital flows of energy, blood, lymph and nerves in the abdomen.  They address and can release emotional and energetic tension from the abdomen.  This assists to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology while improving the body’s ability to self repair and balance.

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® and Fertility Massage Therapy™ support and enhance health and wellness throughout the life cycle for women, men, and children. Generally I combine these approaches in a single treatment, but if you prefer one over the other, feel free to ask.

It can be hard to understand the benefits of this kind of approach. For me personally I was profoundly affected by having a single treatment. I stopped medicating my painful periods away and had the courage to feel my period for the first time in decades. During my first steam I connected to my womb, and felt the deepest sense of relaxation I had ever felt through my abdomen and pelvis.

Abdominal massage is generally safe, but there are some times when it is contraindicated, including:

  • 3 days prior to and during heavy bleed
  • if you have a coil fitted
  • within 6 weeks of minor surgery
  • within 1 year of major surgery (or with approval from your GP)
  • active infection or STD
  • If actively trying to conceive – avoid deep womb and sacral work after ovulation
